the subtlety of megaphones

fragile this

porcelain vase

the cat

pushed over

alabaster pieces

rushing from the scene

cat tucking

around a corner glimpsed

in the shadow of a tail

how long has she

been prowling

pacing the kitchen

back and forth

ready

to topple the tower of london

from the kitchen island

another statue down

in dixie

people kneeling

primary colors

swirling in rhythm

with sirens

a serenade

more yellow tape

chalk marks

on blacktop

pieces of bone

on cement

blowing from the scene

wind gusts impatient bluster

something about hope

something about change

rustling white empty pages
