A thin sleeve of sky opens its yaw,
scudding clouds
climbing red shadows at the break of day.
Morning lingers
coreopsis
dancing in the wind, first light inspiring
a hike into the canyon
a path descending to a clear mountain lake.
And silver bracelets of light
dance on the water, praising the skies enormity
the wind, unstill,
the dappled sun worn like a robe.
