Apparition in the Pines

Apartment on the highway

Outside the back gate

Over top of Buddy Yopp’s

Not far from Snead’s Ferry

Bedroom living room kitchen and bath

Far from home first time alone

Mad at the brown dog

You chased through the park

Tangled your hair in clothesline

The sun shone

You wrestled it free

I watched it merge with the sunlight

Carolina pine sand and beaches burning

Bathed in shining light livid mad outrage

Twine-like circuits twisting turning pulling

Fused image trapped phantasm of you

A recollection held in depths of neurons

Snared in a web of my silvery apparitions
