Mid-February, Five Haiku

Tree shadows

on snow—

what doesn’t this mean?

Two teen boys walking a dog

on the frozen trail—

they bring Pringles.

The white line of a jet

divides the sky

into different blues

The white line of a jet

across hydrolines

draws the proof of … something

No colder than yesterday,

the graves blanketed

with new snow
