cleave

there is this slow drift onward, outward, away

but also toward. a mind cleaving itself from body.

a body cleaving itself from skin. a skin unraveling

into knowing. a knowing feeling away from the end.

ceaseless cyclical motion. deep breath in.

slow release. begin again.

the smallest hole making way for more. the smallest gap letting in.

the wind pulling against the body. the body clinging to the skin.

the mess and the soak. the cool against fever

the breaking toward. the body bathed

in light and water. the body steeped in soft and silk.

the silk clinging, gossamer thin. the web caught

in the mouth of fruit. the pit taut between the teeth.

the teeth worn thin and wearing enamel. the cyanide capsuled

within a body. the body of fruit bringing blushing flesh.

the slow count onward, upward, ever without end.
