Pink Brown

Forget pink tell me of
the ocean quahogs not
the pearl it’s chewing
on. Tired of grapefruit
penetration I’m coconut
husk and quail egg speck
Surprise it’s a unshucked
scallop! rose underbelly
river dolphin when smooth
Never been strawberry
blond only bramblednest
eggbasket no yolk just shell
of a world cracked open
and the runny is clay and
cinnamon sticks if you stirr
a rainbow for long enough
you get a brown queer as
the lips that welcomed it
into being a hue that comes
from a forever in the sun legs
spread open for the unreaping
I didn’t ask I just got a gaping
that unlearned entry, fitting to be
fashioned after a wooden door, shut
